I had the time of my life creating the world of Sabine and Dot. We truly built their universe from the ground up—starting with miniature models representing each major location in the film. We wanted to have the freedom to shoot a whimsical purple Victorian house, a prison with a pink gate, and a burning bookstore. We designed custom cigarette boxes, advertisements, and even parking tickets—because nothing could be as it was in the real world.

Sourcing the vintage pieces was a labor of love but 100% worth it. I loved including newspapers from the 1940’s, the print being my hometown’s own Statesman Journal. My experience growing up with my mom was waking up early on Friday mornings to shop at estate sales. I used a lot of the tips and tricks I’d learned from her to find one of a kind, unique pieces for the film.
